Did you know that Billings Community Adult Education offers one-night-only personal enrichment courses that are both fun and educational? It’s true. For instance, BAC offers cooking classes, each one focused on one aspect of cooking or baking. This November and December BAC offers two such courses, one focused on the making of Crock Pot meals, and the other on baking Christmas cookies.

Crock Pot

On Thursday, November 16th, from 5-8 p.m. BAC offers a course in cooking Crock Pot Freezer Meals. The course is $40, and the only equipment required are freezing containers—this is optional however, and if you don’t want to bring your own containers, then plastic freezer bags will be supplied. What type of cook benefits from this type of course? Well, how many of us would love to eat great food even on the busiest weekday night? Presumably, most of us. Crock Pot cooking is enormously popular because it allows ingredients to blend and cook with very little effort from the home cook. Meals such as Orange Chicken, Chili, even Beef Roast can be cooked in a Crock Pot with incredible results. These are meals that can be put together then deployed on the perfect date—simply remove from the freezer and place in the Crock Pot.

Christmas Cookies

Christmas Cookies are so much fun to bake. BAC offers a one-night-only course on Thursday, December 7th, at 5-8 P.M, on how to bake these wonderful seasonal treats. The course fee is $30, and it’s recommended that you bring your favorite cookie tins and decorating equipment. Don’t’ feel like a savvy backer of Christmas cookies, then this course will help you with your cookie baking basics, but also leave you with a few new ideas that will boost your creative confidence this Christmas season. You will be able to bake sugar cookies, rolled cookies, decorated spritz, and learn all the essential techniques to each bake.
